This monument is in Gardos, a part of Zemun. Erected in 1896 to mark the celebration of one thousand years (896-1896) since the founding and existence of Hungary. It was built as a tower-viewpoint or as a tower-postcard, on the highest point of Gardos, and made stone and brick. The architecture is a mixture of styles. Some erroneously connect it to Janos Hunjadi, also known as Sibinjanin Janko. The tower hosts today different cultural activities.
