Monument of Prince Mihailo
Monument of Prince Mihailo is a work of Florentine sculptor Enrico Pazzi. It was erected in 1882, as the first artistic monument in Serbia, in front of the National Theatre, on the place where once stood the Stambol Gate. Written on its base are the names of the towns won from the Ottomans during Prince MIhailo’s rule, as well as scenes from Serbian history made in relief (made after architect Konstantin Jovanovi}’s draft). Prince Mihailo’s right hand points in the direction of Prizren town.
